Please let me know that how to fix outlook not connecting to server issues. I am facing some error while using my outlook email. Help me.

Fix Outlook not Connecting to Server Issues:

Solution 1: Check if Outlook is Offline 

If your Outlook is not connecting to the server, then that may be happening because the Offline Mode is activated. To resolve and prevent connection errors, you are required to bring Outlook back to the online mode.

If you are using Outlook 2007 or its previous version, then you must select the File tab and then uncheck the "Work Offline" option. But if you are using Outlook 2010 or later versions, then below are the steps that you are required to follow. 

  • First of all, click on the send or receive tab
  • Search for the option "Work Offline". 
  • After that, Deselect Offline

Once you are done performing all the steps mentioned above, you will see a message at the end of the screen that says "Trying to connect". After that, you need to check whether the connectivity issue is fixed or not. 

Solution 2: Check Your Email Credentials

Another possible reason that can lead to Outlook connectivity issues is typing in the wrong credentials. There is a chance that you entered the wrong login credentials or misspelled them and failed to access your Outlook email account.

In that case, you are required to correct the login credentials by performing the steps given below. 

Step 1: Launch Outlook. 

Step 2: Go to File, Info, Account, and Social Networking Settings. 

Step 3: After that, go to the Email tab and then choose your account. Return to the home page and then sign in by entering the correct credentials. Search for the Remove option and then click on the Remove account.

Step 4: Once you are done removing the account, return to the home page and then use the right credentials to sign in. Please check special characters, spaces, and spellings. 

Step 5: See if you can connect Outlook to your server. 

Solution 3: Restart Your Device

You can easily get rid of Outlook connectivity issues by restarting your device. Once you log in, many programs will open up before you unknowingly. This can lead to various temporary issues.

Hence, it is important for you to restart your system if you wish to get rid of all the hindrances, which may stop Outlook from connecting to the server. 

Solution 4: Resolve Issues in the MS Exchange Server

You may encounter this problem because of the MS exchange server issue. In order to get get rid of this issue, browse through File, Info, Account, Social Networking and then Account Settings.

Now, you need to find the cause of the problem in the MS server. If you see an orange circle in front of the account, then that means there is some issue with the server. Fixing this issue is not in your hands as you have to wait for Microsoft to resolve the problem. 

Solution 5: Update Outlook 

One may experience technical glitches while using a particular software. However, Outlook is no exception. In order to fix the bugs in the previous version of Outlook, Microsoft introduces updates from time to time.

These updates help the apps in identifying the cause of the problem. Also, it enables you to fix issues with the application. To update the app to the latest version, below are the steps that you need to follow. 

  • Select File and then go to Office Account.
  • After that, select the option of Update. 
  • Once you click, the update will begin automatically. 
  • Restart the device once the updates are complete. Also, ensure that you are connected to the internet. 

Solution 6: Repair Outlook 

If you are encountering problems with Microsoft Outlook, then you must repair it for smooth functioning.

Carry out the steps mentioned below to begin with the repair process. 

Step 1: First of all, go to File and then select Account and Social Networking Settings. 

Step 2: After that, select Account Settings.

Step 3: Then, go to the pop-up window and select the Repair button. 

Step 4: Then, you are required to confirm your action. In case you are not recovering from the default account, it will ask for the password. 

Step 5: Now, confirm and start the repair process.
