Please let me know how to fix it when a keyboard won't type. I am facing some issues while working on Windows 10 Pc. Help me.
The following are a few causes of a non-responsive keyboard:
The system is unresponsive: You won't be able to type if the computer or an app is frozen or locked up.
The keyboard is unplugged: It's possible that the keyboard was unplugged, its batteries perished, or the wireless signal was broken.
No selection is made for the desired text field: Your keyboard won't type if the text field you're trying to enter is deselected, or it will type elsewhere off-screen (making it appear like it's not working).
Software or driver issues could be stopping the keyboard from functioning: It could be your keyboard driver or another software problem.
Try these remedies if your Keyboard Won't Type:
Start your Computer Again.
Restart your computer with the mouse if it is responsive. After it restarts, see if the keyboard has begun to function.
If the computer isn't responding, you'll first need to try to thaw it out if it's frozen. You can restart the computer after it becomes responsive once more.
Check the Connection to Your Keyboard.
Try unplugging and then plugging your USB keyboard back in if you're having trouble. Try plugging it into a different USB port or a different computer if that doesn't work.
If your keyboard uses a detachable USB cable, you can verify if another USB cable functions.
Make sure the appropriate text field is chosen. When you can start typing again, click where you want to type in the text box.
Your computer won't accept any key presses, or it will send the type in the wrong direction if you unintentionally click outside the text box where you wish to input. The app you want to write in could not even be the focus app, even though it is displayed on the screen.
Uncheck the Sticky and Filter Boxes.
You can solve the problem by turning off the sticky, filter, and toggle keys if your keyboard appears to function but is acting strangely and not typing the keys you are pressing.
Disable sticky, filter, and toggle keys by going to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
Pick a different text field if you can. Try typing in a new app after you've opened it.
If you were having problems typing in a word processor, for instance, open your web browser, click on the URL bar, and then check to see if you can type there. Close the first program and restart it to see if it resolves the Issue.
If your keyboard is wireless, make sure the connection is working. Try unplugging and replugging the wireless USB dongle if the keyboard connects using one.
If it connects via Bluetooth, try turning it on and off in your computer's Bluetooth settings and double-check that your keyboard is connected. If your keyboard doesn't connect, you should pair it once again.
Restart the Keyboard.
The functionality of your keyboard may be compromised if it is unclean. It's more likely that this is your Issue if some of the keys work because dirty keyboards frequently contain some stuck keys with working ones.
Reinstall Your Drivers.
You might try updating your drivers if your keyboard is still not working. The keyboard can function once more with the installation of a new driver.
What should I Do If my Laptop's Keypad is Unresponsive?
Since your laptop's keyboard is integrated into the operating system, it is doubtful that there is a connectivity issue, but the keyboard lock may have been inadvertently activated.
Depending on the make and model, different procedures may be required to unlock a locked laptop keyboard; however, you can try pressing the function key with a keyboard icon to see if it works. If not, find out how to unlock the keyboard on your laptop model and give it a shot.
What should I do If the Keyboard on my Chromebook Stops Working?
Start your Chromebook again, then try typing once more. To test the keyboard again, sign out and then back in using Guest Mode. The problem might result in a problem with your utilising account.
Delete the problematic history and reattach it if the keyboard functions in guest mode.
How to fix a non-responsive keyboard is described in this article. In addition to wired and wireless keyboards, built-in keyboards are covered in this solution manual.
A keyboard may not respond for a variety of reasons, such as:
The computer is locked up or frozen: You won't be competent to type if your machine or an app is locked up or frozen.
The keyboard is not connected: The keyboard may not have been powered, may have run out of power sources, or may not have had a stable wireless connection.
There is no choice for the intended text field: Your keyboard won't type if the text field you're trying to enter characters into has been deselected, or it will type off-screen, giving the impression that it isn't working.
Try these fixes if your keypad isn't functioning:
1. Switch off your computer. Use your mouse to restart your computer if it is responsive. Check to determine if the keypad has begun to function after it restarts. Before continuing, you must attempt to thaw out a frozen computer if it is not responsive. You can restart the computer once it is operating normally once more.
2. Check the connection to your keyboard. Try unplugging and then plugging your USB keyboard back in if you're having trouble. Try connecting it into an alternative USB port or a different computer if that doesn't work.
3. Double-check that you have the appropriate text field selected. When you are ready to start typing again, simply click in the desired text field. Your computer won't accept any keystrokes if you unintentionally clicked beyond the text growing where you intend to type, or it will transmit the typed characters in the wrong direction. Despite being visible on the screen, the app you are interested in entering might not be the primary app.
4. Turn off the sticky as well as filter keys. By turning off the sticky, filter, as well as toggle keys, you might be able to fix a keyboard that appears to function but is acting strangely and not typing what keys you are pressing.

7. Your keyboard may not function properly if it is dirty. This is more inclined to be your issue if a number of the keys work because dirty keyboards frequently contain a few stuck keys along with others that work.
8. Try upgrading your drivers if your keypad still won't type. The keyboard might be able to resume operation with the help of a new driver.
