Solution 1: Sign out of YouTube

This error usually occurs when you are logged into your account. To resolve this issue, you can try signing out of your YouTube account.

In order to sign out, you need to go to your Account icon given at the top right corner of your screen and then click on Sign out.

If this solution helps you resolve your issue, then great. If it doesn't, then move on to the next solution.

Solution 2: Refresh the Page or Restart your Browser

Sometimes this issue occurs because of a small problem. This problem can easily be resolved by refreshing the page. To refresh the page, you can either press F5 or click on the reload button.

After that, check whether you can play the video normally. If this doesn't fix your problem, then restart your browser and play your YouTube video again.

Solution 3: Check the Network Connection Status

There is a possibility that you are encountering this problem because of a bad internet connection. Below are some things that you can try to fix the network connection problem. 

1) Use VPN

Try using VPN. This will resolve all your local network connection-related issues. If you have a VPN server, then you can set up the connection manually. However, if you don't have a VPN server, then you must use NordVPN. 

2) Check the Network Connection

Check all the devices that are connected to your network. Disable the network connection of your device or program i.e affecting your internet speed. 

3) Clear Browsing Data on Your Web Browser

The cache or browsing data stored on your browser can also lead to this problem. The cache stored on your browser can change the settings and may not allow it to work properly. Therefore, to get rid of this problem, you need to remove the browsing history on your browser. 

Solution 4: Disable the Extensions of Your Internet Browser

Sometimes browser extensions lead to YouTube videos black screen issues. This mostly happens with ad-blocking extensions. To fix this problem, you need to disable the browser extensions.

Carry out the steps mentioned below to disable browser extensions. 

Step 1: First of all, launch extension settings. For this, go to Google Chrome and enter "chrome://extensions" in the location bar of your browser. After that, press the enter key. 

Step 2: Uncheck the check box of enabled right next to your ad-blocking extension to turn it off. 

Step 3: Play your YouTube video and check if it is playing normally. 

Step 4: If the problem is still persisting, then disable the rest of the extensions as described in the previous step. Disable these extensions one by one not all at once. This will help you identify the extension that is causing the problem. 

Solution 5: Disable Hardware Acceleration

This involves assigning processing tasks to computer hardware such as GPU instead of CPU. This can actually enhance the performance of related software. However, hardware acceleration leads to some problems sometimes.

In case you have turned on hardware acceleration in your internet browser, then you may experience issues in laying YouTube videos normally. To fix this problem, you need to turn off hardware acceleration on your browser.

Below are the steps that you need to follow to disable hardware acceleration on your browser. 

Step 1 : On your Google Chrome browser, go to the Menu button appearing in the top-right corner. After that, select Settings. 

Step 2 : Select the option of "Show advanced settings" given at the end of the screen. 

Step 3 : Go to the System section and then uncheck the option of "Use hardware acceleration when available". 

Step 4 : After that, launch your browser again.
