Fix AVG Anti-Virus Not Working Issue:

Is your AVG antivirus not working? If yes, then that means your device is unsafe and prone to malware and spyware attacks. Before you begin visiting websites, downloading files, and installing programs and emails, you are required to troubleshoot the AVG antivirus not working issue. Till the time your antivirus program becomes active, disconnect your computer from the internet to safeguard it from possible threats. 

1) Never Install Two Anti-Virus on Your System

AVG anti-virus not working issue can arise because of installing two separate antivirus programs on your system. Two active antivirus tools installed on your system can lead to a conflict and as a result, your device may stay unprotected. If you have another antivirus program installed on your system along with AVG, then you must uninstall the program that is causing the conflict.

Go to the AVG website and perform the step-by-step instructions on how to remove antivirus programs. You must uninstall the conflicting program by using the removal utility or official uninstaller. This is important because merely deleting the files does not uninstall the antivirus program and its components. 

2) Delete Conflicting Apps

Apart from the malware protection solutions, there are many other programs that may conflict with your AVG antivirus that may stop it from working properly. These programs include Better file rename, CCleaner, BeTwin VS, etc.

Visit the main website of AVG and check the updated list of programs that can lead to problems. If you see such programs on your PC that are causing the AVG anti-virus not working issue, then you must delete that program using the uninstaller. 

3) Use Safe Mode

In case malware has infected your device, then that means that virus is not letting your AVG antivirus to work properly. Restart your PC and then boot it in safe mode. For this, you need to go to the top-right corner of your screen and select Settings.

After that, choose the option of "Restart Now" given under the option of Advanced Setup. After that, select Troubleshoot by going to the screen of "choose an option". Then, select Startup Settings and then finally select Restart.

When your system restarts, select the Safe Mode options from the list of options. Now, Windows will start loading.

Once the loading is done, launch AVG and then choose virus scan preferences.  After that, select the option of Start Scan to run a virus scan. If the scan detects a malware, then it will be sent to the VG's virus vault for deletion or quarantine. Once the scan is over, restart your PC, boot Windows normally and then launch AVG to make sure it is working properly. 

4) Update AVG Virus Definitions

Virus threats are evolving and changing continuously. AVG introduces virus definition and program updates. These updates are released to diagnose the latest threats. In case AVG is not working properly on your PC, then you need to make sure that the latest program updates and virus definitions are installed on your system.

Additionally, AVG may have issues removing certain viruses it detects at the time of the scan. In case AVG finds a virus on your computer, which it cannot delete, then go to the AVG website and download a removal tool.
